Poems of Ecstasy

(Poèmes de L’Extase)

A unique live visual music performance

Poems of Ecstasy is a live multimedia performance by CaroLuna Michelson, soprano and filmmaker, and Kristin Pankonin, pianist, featuring works by three prominent French composers of the 20th century with accompanying original video imagery.

Poèmes pour Mi, Trois Poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé, and Quatre Poèmes Hindous are three exotic song cycles with ecstatic poetry composed by Olivier Messiaen, Maurice Ravel and Maurice Delage respectively. All three hauntingly evocative song cycles speak of divine love, both sacred and profane, and are joined with CaroLuna’s visual treatment to create a uniquely immersive sensory experience.
